PROJECT 10 27 INC
About
Our mission is to profoundly enhance the lives of senior adults by eradicating loneliness and social isolation. We are dedicated to fostering enduring relationships, ensuring that every senior adult feels valued and cherished as an integral part of their community. We envision a community with sufficient interventions that lead to no senior adult experiencing social isolation while maintaining balanced mental health and involvement in their community.
Project 10:27 was born out of the recognition that the prevalence of loneliness and social isolation is on an upward trajectory. Through heavy investment in one-on-one relationships, we offer care to homebound seniors who are experiencing challenging times in life such as grief, loneliness, and chronic or terminal illness. We connect with each senior through telephone contact, monthly correspondence, in-person visits, prayer, Bible study, fellowship, and social outings to help them reconnect with their community.
Additional Info
Our Mission in Action in 2024
• Face-to-Face Home Visits – Many seniors we serve are homebound and unable to engage socially. In 2024, we conducted 1,275 visits, bringing companionship, prayer, and encouragement to those who might otherwise feel forgotten.
• Caring Connections Card Program – Loneliness is often intensified by a lack of meaningful communication. Our volunteers sent 2,160 handwritten cards in 2024, offering messages of love, faith, and encouragement. 89% of recipients reported feeling less lonely as a result.
• Discipleship Through Bible Study – Many seniors can no longer attend church, leaving them spiritually disconnected. We address this by hosting weekly Bible studies in senior communities, apartments, and long-term care facilities. In 2024, we facilitated 896 Bible study encounters, with 98% of attendees reporting a deepened faith and 72% noting improvements in their mental health.
• Acts of Service – Social isolation is compounded by limited mobility, financial constraints, and health challenges. Our volunteers dedicated 1,950 hours in 2024 to helping seniors with daily tasks, such as grocery deliveries, meal-sharing, transportation to medical appointments, and minor home repairs, enabling them to maintain independence and dignity.
